I have always been interested in Photography, but in 2018, I joined the Potters Bar Photographic Society, not only to help me develop my own style, but to learn from others in the club. When people ask me what style of photography I prefer, I would normally reply that I like all genres, but when I think about it a bit more, I think that my preferred style is landscape/seascape. I seem to be drawn to them!
A style I like, particularly with seascapes, is long exposure, where you hold the camera lens open for a few seconds (or even minutes in some cases) to create a blurring or in other cases, a smoothing out of the water. This can be seen in some of my photos.
Another style I like is “intentional Camera Movement” or ICM. This allows a bit of artistic interpretation to the pictures.
Mainly, I just enjoy taking photos, and if other people like them, so much the better.
