My interest in photography goes back a long way. Even in my youth days I had a fascination for cameras. It was in the early 1970’s when I learnt how to develop and print my own B&W images and set up a makeshift darkroom that my interest became a passion. Whilst working in central London at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund I attended some photography evening classes which were actually quite inspirational as the teachers were national newspaper photojournalists.
In the late 1990’s I joined Park Street Camera Club. Without doubt joining a camera club I discovered was the best way to improve one’s photography. Winning print of the year in my first season got me off to a good start and gave me further incentive to do well in all future competitions.
Having been a Nikon user for about 40 years I recently switched to the Olympus System which being relatively lightweight has excellent image stabilisation and many advanced shooting features.
I enjoy all genres of photography from landscape to table top and since owning my Olympus system have indulged in more macro.
Park Street sadly had to close down in 2024 but it’s been a pleasure to join Potters Bar and new challenges!
