Jubilee Cup winners….again!

12 May 2024

It’s now three wins in a row for us at Barnet & Finchley Photographic Society’s Jubilee Cup competition.  The Jubilee Cup is unusual in that it combines both projected and printed images in to one competition.

We competed with Southgate and Barnet clubs in a three way event.

After the first round, which was projected images, we were lying in third place although Graham Coldrick scored a 20 [out of 20] with his butterfly picture “Holly Blues” (see below).

Luckily, the print element was a different matter for us with better scoring and the judge, Malcolm Rapier, said he would like to take two of our pictures home with him!  Both were awarded 20 and one was “Early Morning” by Bob Scarlett and the other “A Study in Brown” by Graham Coldrick.  Fiona Adamson came in with a 19 for her bird picture and this tipped the balance in our favour for a third year.

Society President, Helen Frost, said that “winning this cup for the third time is a great pleasure and it shows the range of talent within Potters Bar’s photographers to keep producing winning images over this period”.
