“Potters Bar & District Photographic Society has been in existence for nearly 70 years and for 53 of those, its Treasurer has been Ken Southam. However, at the Society’s recent Annual General Meeting, Ken (now aged 90) stood down from the post that he has held for so long. Ken said “there have been many changes in photography during my time with the Society, not least the almost wholesale adoption of digital capture to replace film. The techniques and the need for the ‘photographer’s eye’ still remain and it continues to be challenging and rewarding hobby. I am standing down from the committee but not putting down my camera. It has been a pleasure to have helped the Society for so long but now is the time to hand-over the accounts to someone new. I am still sometimes shooting on film and keep working in the darkroom.”
