PBPS Treasure Hunt London Embankment

6 August 2018

Not put off by the heat or the fact we were sharing the Embankment with cyclists competing in the London Triathlon, a group of twelve treasure hunters gathered outside Embankment Station ready for a 10 o clock start.

Clue sheets in hand we snapped our way up and down a mile stretch of the north Embankment and gathered at Somerset House midday for refreshments and to check with Bob how we had done !

Many thanks to Bob for organizing the clues and arranging the event. London is an amazing place full of small details that we all just stroll on past and looking for the answers to our quiz we all looked harder !

The pair stand undefeated by George. No fire today just quietly marking the way to the city.

He’s there right in front of you, not quite hidden by leaves. His forte with another was comic opera.

A mythical beast and a religious symbol bar the way

It is said that when these regal beasts drink, London will flood

Not this side but the other. Once tall and proud now dwarfed by others. But still needed for cooking

Used to hold a vessel in place, there are lots of them but not a vessel in sight

Its not sharp, has no eye and useless for stitching but still impressive

A flight to a river crossing. So many it almost seems to go to heaven.

A box of Belgian Chocolates might of been a nicer way to say thank you

You see them everywhere. Many supported by a bank. this stand is just 2 wheels two wheels etc

Very uncomfortable to ride, designed by committee but looks quite inviting to sit a while
